Hi JJ
You got no new sounds and the lap time voice did not change?
Did you receive any installation errors?
Can you check to make sure the following files got installed?
GameData\Commentary\GTRL_CommentaryEnglish-USA.ini
GameData\Commentary\GTRL_ARCASoundsPlugin.mas
Plugins\ARCA_GTRLSoundsPlugin.dll
Thanks. |

Hi Eric,
Please make sure you have your "Spotter Detail" set to "Full" and "Spotter Lap Times" set to "Always" in your ARCA sound settings.
If that is not the problem and you have time, please enable the debug option as follows:
1. Open GTRLSoundsPlugin.ini in a text editor (notepad). The file is in the same folder as ARCA.exe (ex: C:\Program Files\ARCA 08)
2. Modify the 3rd line of the file to read 'Create Debug File=1'.
[General]
Enable=1
Create Debug File=0
3. Restart the Sim and do a few things that you think the spotter should report to you.
4. Exit the Sim. Go to the same folder as step #2 and email GTRL_ARCASoundsDebug.txt to me (cobbrg@nr2003.com). Please let me know what you experienced from the cockpit so I can compare it to the debug log.
This debugging should help us identify what is going on with the few people who have reported not getting sounds. Thanks! |

great addon, i used it in my last two league races. Overall works greats but I am having one problem and that is at the start of the race I cannot hear the anthem or chatter. I can hear all the other sounds during race. Any thoughts as to what i can do or maybe it is something that I am missing. Thanks |

Make sure you have the Spotter Detail set to Full in the graphics/audio section of the ARCA settings.
Also, the anthem and the chatter only work online.
Hope this helps. |

Version 1.4 is now available in SFF. Please install and help us test. Let us know if you have any issues. If all goes well, we'll release it to the public. Thanks!
UPDATES:
- GTRLSoundsPlugin.ini can be used to specify pit speed and pace lap info when the GDB file cannot be found. (ex: Concord)
- GTRLSoundsPlugin.ini can be used to override pit speed and pace lap info found in GDB files. (to override, add "Override GDB=1" )
- Changed all commentary INI detail to 1 (no longer need to set spotter detail to 'Full' )
- Cleaned up tendency to repeat first place chatter when battling back and forth for the lead
- Stopped giving lap times on a restart (when last lap was under caution)
- Reduced the likelihood of getting the same tire temp warning after tire cools on a straightaway
- GTRLSoundsPlugin.ini can be used to set tire temp/wear warnings on a track-by-track basis
- Don't provide first lap time twice in practice (bug fix)
- Don't round lap times (29.998 was being reported as 30.998) |

I'd love to, Eric, but I don't think we are offered enough information to determine if there is a crash. We can tell when there is an 'incident', but that could just be some contact between two cars or a brush of the wall. Another challenge is that we don't have information that tells us if the incident occurs in a particular corner. I'll see if we can pinpoint the location on the track when an 'incident' is reported and go from there. Thanks. |

Version 1.5 is now available in SFF. Please install and help us test. It's a small release done primarily for the green flag improvement. Thanks!
UPDATES:
- "Green flag" call is immediate (no longer up to a .5s delay)
- Continued improving logic for position changes
- No longer saying "Stay on apron" when leaving pits in practice
- FIX: No longer providing first lap time twice in practice
I've been working on the "stay behind car #x" and I don't see how it is going to work out right now. It's good at determining who you should be behind when exiting pit road, but decisions involving penalties and the timing of a frozen field can differ from the Sim. |

Is there a way to make the spotter work on other sims? Like SCE or rFactor?
Thanks

I don't know, zipperer. Have you looked into the CarloMaker spotter plugin?

An update to Version 1.6 is now available in SFF.
UPDATES:
- "Coming to Green" now based on leader's track location. Should no longer overlap with "Green Flag"
- Fix for "Leader approaching" call that could be triggered by slow average lap times
- Fix for 1.6 Beta: "Coming to green" broken for the leader
- Update to ARCASetupDiffs plugin to allow spotter identification of penalty type. Version 1.2 of Setup Diffs:
---- Does't request scoring when disabled (to allow spotter to get it)
---- Fixes "Rear Toe" tag
---- Don't write a run if zero laps are completed
If you were hearing a generic "gotta come down pit road" when receiving all penalties including a longest line penalty, this update should fix that for you. It can depend on the plugins you have because only one is able to get the scoring information that contains the penalty. ARCASetupDiffs (which I also write) was updated to defer to the spotter.
